Roleybushcare is an environmental group that is focused on maintaining and protecting the Jarrah bushland around the Roleystone and Karragullen areas. We are a non-profit, volunteer organisation.

Acacia alata

The concept of a flora database for the Roleystone reserves was conceived to help Roleystone residents identify the native plants in the local reserves and on their own bush blocks.

The database includes plants found in Roleystone reserves managed by the City of Armadale plus some surrounding areas managed by the Department of Parks and Wildlife. The surveyed area includes Roleystone and parts of Karragullen, Illawarra, Lesley, Martin, Kelmscott, Canning Mills and Bedfordale.

It can be searched on botanical family, genus, species, common name, flower colour (for multi-coloured flowers, only one of the
colours need to be added), month of flowering, category of plant (e.g. climber, grass, small shrub, orchid etc), dieback resistance, reserve name and whether it is native to Roleystone/Karragullen or native to area within 5 km of Roleystone/Karragullen.

More plants will be added over time as they are found and identified but if anyone finds a plant in one of the reserves mentioned that is not included in the database, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. Note that the information and photographs in the database are copyright but the information may be used if the source is cited and the photographs may be reproduced if the photographer is acknowledged.
