Last Sunday, our volunteers came together to enjoy another get-to-gether at our local community centre. It was fabulous to see so many volunteers together at one time. We truly appreciate the many different ways our volunteers help out. Some come along to field days to help treat the trees, some prefer to plant seedlings, others take administerial roles or work on our website. Others help out by providing morning tea, keeping our scrapbooks in order, watering seedlings, helping out on our plant sale, writing articles for our local papers or website and audit our books. Taking photos for us and helping out with plant surveys are two more chores that people perform. Our promotional material such as logos, brochures and flyers are prepared by our volunteers behind the scenes. Our two local editors also contribute by publishing our articles in their magazines. Looking after our equipment is a special task as is the supervision of the plant collection. A very special thank you to those who come along to our meetings to support the committee in their tasks.
A spit-roast pork and beef lunch, with prepared salads, hot potato bakes and scrumptious sweets, was gobbled up by young and old. Thanks to all the people who helped out on the day by preparing the dishes, setting up and clearing away our mess.
