If you were walking your dog along the river walk between Thompson Road and Heritage Drive last month you may have bumped into a large group of volunteers planting trees and shrubs along part of the riverbank.
It was a huge effort by 40 volunteers who managed to plant 2000 seedlings in a morning, along the Canning River in Roleystone. Thank you to Jen Francis from Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group for organising the event. And thanks also to the Environmental Resources Management team for sending a group of volunteers to help. We had a scrumptious morning tea provided by volunteers in our Roleybushcare community.
We held a second plant sale at the Roleystone shopping centre towards the end of July. Roleybushcare thanks everyone who bought plants from us or stopped to chat. The funds raised support our work in maintaining the health of our jarrah and banksia trees in Roleystone’s bush reserves.
Roleybushcare’s next field day will be on Sunday 12 August at the Hall Road Bushland reserve to continue our revegetation there.
